If you are looking for no frills pure beer then Below Grade Brewing is the place for you. They have got some really amazing variety of beer at great prices. The people of Below Grade Brewing are totally amazing and you will love spending time with them. In fact, Central Oregon Magazine released its summer 2013 issue with a cover story featuring six of Bend’s brewers entitled Brewing Up Allstars, also known as The Beer Issue, and Dean (the bee’s knees of the place) was included in the select few.
Variety in beer is one of the things that make Below Grade Brewing really special. Every single beer that they make is unique in its way. The Jackaboy Pale Ale is a complex malt bill including American two-row with thick layers of Maris Otter, Munich, Vienna, Carapils and Carastan that create a complex malt backbone for the character from Apollo, Cascade and Summit hops to complement. Volksvitzen South German Weissbock, on the other hand, makes the use of 4 premium malts and two varieties of hops which unite this golden color South German style staple. The special yeast and hops create its characteristic fruit and spice, truly a gift to the palate.
Other than top notch beer BGB also has some really cool merchandise that you can buy. It has three styles of hats to choose from, each embroidered with the cool BGB logo. The sports hat comes in red, the trucker hat in white, and the military hat in black. These hats can be purchased for $16 at the NorthWest Crossing Farmers Market, every Saturday from 10-2.
At the NorthWest Crossing Farmers Market, BGB team crew comes to the big red bar held on the west side of Bend every Saturday from 10-2. They usually have 4-6 of our beers on tap in glasses, a group of three tasters, and can fill your growler (they have growlers for purchase as well). Each Saturday there is a live band, lots of great food and great beer, veggies, fruit, crafts, meat and seafood, and sometimes even a petting zoo and pony rides. It is always fun to be here, and if you are with your friends it is even better. However before coming make sure that you check out the official website for booth information.
